As you can imagine I was left with two choices - dwell on feeling abandoned or rise to the occasion and succeed. I'm making a conscious choice to do that later. I am going to make use out of this example and moment and tell myself "I can do it"! Thanks to this occasion, as my sweet husband put it, I know a little more about who I am. This situation doesn't prove me to be a failure but it will help me show what I can do with a unique situation, one that has highlighted where I can stand to improve.
Now I have to "decide what I have to do to become who I want to be". Simply put this would be to:
- lose weight and staying committed
- not be so hard on myself
- realize that I go to great lengths to rationalize decisions even though they give me the outcomes I don't desire.
- learn to look at myself for reassurance
Great distraction tools when I feel tempted by splurges are:
- journal
- distract myself
- substitute something for what I'd really like
- If I have to eat what I'm craving...earn it!
- if you want to be healthier - study health people
This is meant to remind me what I feel today so that when I am in a week moment I can remind me what I am doing this for and how to overcome it all.
Inspirational Quotes:
- "Principles are the safe guard to self esteem" - my sweet husband
- " The one who does not remember history is bound to live through it again" - plaque at Auschwitz
- "Wait for two marshmallows" - silly story from my husband that provides personal motivation

- "Never limit your view of life by any past experience" - Ernest Holmes
- "Tomorrow is often the busiest day of the week" - Spanish proverb
- "The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing"

Great advice:
- Learn from what's happened to see what's coming
- When you want to eat something that's a splurge ask yourself if the outcome it gives you is something you want in your life.
